The other day I received an e-alert from Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting at "http://www.fair.org/" about how the British and other foreign presses were shooting the accuracy of American political campaign commercials while investigative TV shows on NBC, CBS, and ABC failed to cover this issue except for once in a while, and mostly to delve into the strategic importance of the ad (not the truth of it). I must say however that FAIR did commend CNN for its coverage. Meanwhile, this is another issue you won't find in the mainstream press in the US. If you want to know how accurate those "negative" ads are, you have to read, say, the Daily Telegraph or even the Times of London at "http://www.telegraph.co.uk/" and "http://www.the-times.co.uk/", respectively. This is similar to the mainstream presses inability--of course, we know they are able, it's just they don't want to--to report some very negative things about Al Gore. That slumlord business? Hardly a mention, though there on Gore's farm (ranch, whatever) was living in a ramshackle house without clean running water half the time a family which included disabled children. Sounds like a border colonia to me! And this is the guy we want to be elected "for the children"? Much more serious, however, is the recent report in WorldNetDaily at "http://www.worldnetdaily.com/" that Gore, through his former association with the communist sympathizer Armand Hammer (the report even states Hammer was a Soviet agent!), is a puppet of the Russian Mafia. And lets not forget to mention the fact that Gore, who spouts environmentalism not only in his book Earth in the Balnce but in the press as well, is spearheading a drive for Occidental Petroleum to wipe out the sacred lands of Colombia's Uwa Indians. (Sting, where are you?!) You won't find this in the NY Times, but you will in the London Times. Both are liberal, and both support their current Administrative overlords, Clinton and Blair, respectively. Interesting. By the way, in all fairness, this is nothing new. Back before I had the Internet I used to listen to Shortwave. The BBC Overseas Service, Radio Canada International, Duetsche Velle (spelling), Radio Taiwan, HCJB in Quito, Ecuador, and, for heavens sakes, even Voice of America would tell its listeners what the establishment US press souldn't tell its readers. This, by the way, was how I found out about Ruby Ridge. Honest. Then, when it was pretty much all over (and Vicky Weaver was shot) it was finally sensational enough for the New York Times to print and to be braodcast over CNN. Go To Page: 1 2
