On the other hand, CNN, New York Times, and the other crews of corporate conglomeracy (a new word?)--or, as Agnew might have put it, the "contemptuous corps of conglomerate conspiracy"--have been playing the shill for the Arizona Senator to such an extent that one hardly saw or heard a peep about the fact that their man was creamed by Bush in the Virginia, North Dakota and Washington primaries. And now one knows how much they loved McCain't, as some wags will now call him: instead of totally ignoring the fact that he lost, which they reasonably can't do because it's too important an issue, they totally undereport it. But will they still love him if he loses California and New York (as well as Texas) on Super Tuesday next week? Honestly, I have never seen anything like it in any media! And, as I so often bring up in these columns, the question begs to be asked: Why? Why are the opposing media so hell bent on the McCain issue? What are their agendas and how does McCain satisfy or deny them? For the Corporate Boys: McCain wants to reward them, as I said above. Also, McCain was one of the biggest supporters of NATO's--and Clinton's, and the media's--efforts to blow away Serbia (for humanitarian reasons, of course) last year, and, perhaps, now, seeing as how any Serb (or any other non-Albanian) doesn't stand a chance of living in Kosovo, to blow the Serb race to smitherines for all time (okay that is a bit extreme, but that's how I see it). He promises "national greatness" and, as the media was so in love with JFK in the 60s, they are in a similar boat with McCain now. He is kind of like an action figure. War hero. G-I Joe. That kind of thing. And, liberal that they are, the establishment media can't stand a guy (Bush) who would dare do such a politically incorrect thing as speak at Bob Jones U. You know, those "anti-Catholic" guys. (BTW, I'm an ex-Catholic. Yet most of those on both sides of the family are Catholic, my spouse's as well, even more so. So, if BJU really was anti-Catholic, I might say the same as McCain did. But BJU is no more anti-Catholic than most other conservative Protestant institutions. As for anti-interracial dating, that's their business. But why is it we have to live in the days of political correctness to hear so much about it?). Go To Page: 1 2
