the outcome of Al Franken vs. FOX News, Franken won, and FOX can't copyright "fair and balanced"--they are neither.

http://talonnews.com/news/2003/july/0731... 20 year-old Republican website owner sued by former Democrat Senator by Jeff Gannon

ProBush.org website owner Mike Marino, who is 20 years old and wanted a web site to defend President Bush from anti-war celebrities and signatories to the "Not in Our Name" anti-Iraq war petition, is being being sued by former South Dakota Senator James Abourezk (a Lebanese American) for $5 million for "defamation". Abourezk's name appears on a Traitor List at the ProBush site, as do scores of other politicians such as Hillary Clinton and celebrities such as Susan Sarandon. The thing is, the 20 year old just wanted to put up a spoof website to vent his spleeen against those who were lambasting a president he thinks may be the best ever, and he has put up such disclaimers (though, upon visiting the site, it is a bit disconcerting to get a voice greeting "you're a traitor!") And, not being a Bush supporter myself, you might wonder how I got to that site. It was a link in the letters section of AntiWar.com from the site's webmaster Eric Garris to a letter Garris wrote for proBush defending Marino against this frivolous lawsuit (which, if you go to the TalonNews site above, you will find out Abourezk has many frivolous suits under his belt, so he does this kind of thing all the time)--view the letter at "http://www.probush.com/letter_antiwar.htm".

Well, there you have it--Attorney General Ashcroft wants to end the free speech of antiwar critics of Bush using the Patriot Act, and some former Senator who likes to sue people wants to end free speech for a young adult venting his spleen against antiwar critics!

Welcome to America, post-9-11! And I concur with Garris that I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it! Go Mike!

http://pinr.com/report.php?ac=view_repor... Support for war in Iraq Based on Fallacious Reasoning

The mythical 70% is still at it, believing Saddam was connected to 9-11. This is despite the fact that neither Bush nor anyone else within the Bush administration never said Saddam was connected to 9-11. However, according to this report, he didn't have to, having consistently implied that Saddam was aiding terrorists, and that Iraq was a base for al-Qaida (and, as I have said elsewhere, this was in US-controlled Northern Iraq!). I agree. It
