Equivalent Fractions (II)

Another observation is that whatever is the multiple of the numerator of the fraction 1/1, the same is the multiple of the denominator of the fraction 1/1. Thus, in order to find the equivalent fraction of one with two in the numerator, both the numerator and denominator of the fraction 1/1 are multiplied by 2.

The observation presented here is applicable to any equivalent fraction of any given fraction above.

Therefore, the rule is: when you multiply both the numerator and the denominator of a fraction by the same number, you get an equivalent fraction with a higher term.
