January 2000 Mascot of the MonthVegas, after all. Plus I do the ol' six shooter-finger thing. I am also one of the world's best hat thief. Man, I need to get a good schtick! But, I am still learning. WORDS OF ADVICE TO THOSE ASPIRING TO BE A MASCOT OR TO THOSE NOVICES OUT THERE: I have three. Number one -- and it is the most important -- have fun. I have finally learned that the key is that you need to have a blast. If you do that, you will express it to the crowd. My second piece of advice is if you have a cheer squad, work with them. There are many reasons, a few are: it will enhance your performance, looks good to the crowd, you get a new set of skills, you get instant helpers and skit actors, and the best reason, you get a new set of friends. Finally, learn from and teach other mascots. They are your best resource. Be a part of the "furry community", it can only be a benefit, I have yet to run into a fellow mascot who was unwilling to help. Make sure that you give back some of that experience that you gain as well. YOUR ASPIRATIONS AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE: To leave a great mascot program that is highly visible as my legacy to UNLV. This year has been the best for me, and I hope to bring it to higher levels for those that will follow. OTHER HOBBIES, INTERESTS, ETC. Computer would have to be it, other than UNLV. UNLV takes up a lot of my time, but it is what I love to do. ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?? Just have fun. Mascotting is the best 'job' in the world. It is such a healthy outlet, and you are at your best when you don't take yourself too seriously. Besides, how can you take yourself seriously with a size 25-EEE shoe? Go Rebels!
