In this tepid market, where venture capital is more difficult to come by, where shareholder value and cash is king mean everything, being on the verge of a breakthrough is a challenge in many respects -- investor relations, stakeholders and personally.
Times like this require an infusion of personal strength -- of patience, perseverence and faith. You must, more than ever, continue to believe and allow the creative imagination and subconscious mind to go to work. Coupled with this personal faith is a faith in the others on your team. You need to be willing to "risk" (not really risk) providing them with the tools so that they can execute. Delegation of responsibility is very important. Continuing to reign the customers into the fold, building the excitement and compelling value, both from an economic and competitive standpoint, will allow the team to succeed. This, too, is an essential point worth repeating -- it will allow the TEAM to succeed. As a senior leader in the company, being able to take a step back every once in a while is not only invaluable but essential. Enjoy your break looking at the sky (or stars)! Stay Fresh! Go To Page: 1
