Driving the Momentum One Step Further

Being involved in a start up is a great experience. Internet speed, autonomy, clearly having to think on your feet, and obviously be very flexible, letting the good brains around you do what is best and uniquely creative to them. I have had the experience of advising and participating in start-ups before; and like the one I am involved with now, it is seriously fun and challenging.

Teamwork, pursuing excellence, managing change and uncertainty are key aspects of the job and the skill sets of the people needed to be successful. Fostering a productive environment lies in celebrating the quick wins quickly. Being strong enough to creatively deal with a setback and look upon it as simply another opportunity. It is important to adopt and practice a belief that thriving in adversity is possible.

Having an unforgiving can-do attitude is essential for success. Why? Simply, you have to evangelize your own product or concept. Nobody really has time to hear about something new much less consider it seriously and have it play a part of the overall strategy. Winning is all in the mind. Thinking big is essential and having clear focus and an action-oriented plan will make things feel more rewarding – you can check off those important tasks knowing that each one of them gets you closer to the summit of self-fulfillment!

Live long & Prosper!
