Here are just a few of the many exciting projects available: Flat Stanley Project: In this project, students make a paper or electronic Flat Stanley to exchange with other participants. The recipient treats the visiting Stanley as a guest and records events from Stanley's visit in a journal and through photographs, post cards, etc., which are sent back to the originating class. Classroom Pet Exchange Project: Classes exchange class pets (stuffed animals) and pet journals by snail mail. They then and share the experience of their "visitor" via e-mail, the web, and journaling. Friends & Flags Project: Friends and Flags is a collaborative multi-cultural learning project that combines authentic language learning with the humanitarian concept of cultural understanding. Geo-Mystery Project: This project uses physical and human characteristics to help students explore what makes their community unique. Postcard Geography: Students learn both physical and cultural geography in this class to class exchange of picture postcards. K-12 Student Poetry Project: Students will use the internet to read and respond to poetry published by other children from around the world and participate as members of a global community of young authors.
