1. Customize the shipping box with your business name or Web site address. Companies such as Chiswick and Uline can print this information onto the box. This makes your package easily recognizable. Imagine, your custom message displayed on a box traveling from coast to coast! 2. Use UPS, DHL, Airborne, or FedEx as your marketing partner. It may cost a few cents more than standard U.S.P.S. rates, but the price is justified. A package shipped by a non-U.S.P.S. carrier is viewed as special and worth opening. 3. Add an additional label to the shipping box. The label should be approximately 1" x 4" and state, "Thank you for your business! If there is any concern regarding the contents of this package, please call (your name) at (your telephone number)." This will help to alleviate any anxiety about opening the box. Other options for the first sentence are, "We value your business!" or "You are our valued client!" The label is easily created using your computer and printer and can also be applied to non-window envelopes. These are three of the many options available to update your marketing efforts while using your dollars effectively in the ongoing challenge of persuading customers to buy. You'll learn additional ways to market your gift basket business throughout 2002. I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday.
