From coast to coast people of all ages are buying paper, stickers, beads, scissors, and every tool imaginable to turn memories into magic. If you have a genuine love of arts and crafts, gizmos and gadgets, with a little imagination and some creativity you can turn plain boxes, bags, and baskets into customized works of art.

Gift baskets designers are always looking for new and clever ways to give their designs a custom look with higher perceived valued without the high cost of production. The most common way of doing this is with the use of enhancements.

Most of us were scrapbooking before we even knew what scrapbooking was. Who hasn't saved the tickets from that special first date, concert, or movie. How many moms out there have a lock of their child's hair or a piece of hair from that first haircut tucked away. You put your pictures and mementos in photo albums added some pictures from magazines or your own doodling and that was scrapbooking.

Now there are printed and themed papers to choose from. You can choose stickers with every theme imaginable. Pre-cut shapes make it all too easy to create one of a kind gift bags that you will never find on the shelf of any store.

I recently took a class on wedding designs and as the final exam each student had to create a wedding themed gift basket and make a presentation to the class. Well, I really didn't want to spend a great deal of money on a basket that I wasn't going to use so I decided to focus my attention on gift bags that could be used as wedding favors for the wedding guest and bridal party. I purchased four white mini gift bags (4 @ $1.00) and then proceeded to go my local Michael's store. Once there I headed straight for the scrapbooking section. There I purchased a couple of wedding kits (also on sale 4 @ $1.00) that included of course bride and groom stickers, silk and paper flowers, pearls, a wedding cake, a bottle of champagne and several other wedding items. I then used these items to decorate my gift bags. I embellished the bags even more by adding ribbons, pearls, and ivy. I also wrapped wedding bubbles in tulle tied with miniature flutes and ribbon and included them in the bags as a sample. I am happy to say that I passed the class and my final exam was a smashing success.
