Tips For A Stress Free Holiday

The holidays are just around the corner and if your like most people who don't even begin to think about the holidays until the day after Thanksgiving you're probably already starting to stress yourself out. Well here are a few tips to help you get through the holidays with a little less stress and a little more cheer.

Tip # 1 - Get Plenty Of Rest

This to me is the most important aspect of not only the holiday season but its also good advice for any time of the year. It seems so simple but oh so much harder to put into action. Even though it's the holiday season life still goes on as does the rituals of daily life. Kids still have to get ready for school, groceries still have to be bought, meals still have to be cooked, and laundry still has to be done. It's easy to see how taking care of yourself gets pushed down to the bottom of the list of things to do.

You can't do the things that you want to do, or be the person that you want to be without proper rest and nutrition. During the hectic pace of the holidays it's easy to forget to eat (let alone eat right) and get the proper rest. We are bombarded with all those sweet treats but we must resist the urge to overindulge. Think about when January comes and you try to get into that new outfit that you got for Christmas.

Send dad and the kids out for pizza and a movie. You stay in and order a chick flick on cable, pop come popcorn, kick up your heals and enjoy the evening alone. Stress Free!

Tip # 2 - Delegate, Delegate, Delegate

If your like most of us you think that the only way you can be assured that everything is going to be done just the way that you want it is to do it yourself. Well, during the holidays its next to impossible to do everything yourself. Unless of course you really are a superwoman, and if that's the case you need to write a book telling the rest of us mere mortals how we too can become superwomen. Buy some extra bow-dabra's and let the kids make bows. Don't worry. It's hard to mess up a bow with a bow-dabra. Who knows, they may come up with some new creative gift topper ideas?

We tend to get mired down during busy times; you've reminded us how to keep from doing that.
