The Playoff Pictures Comes ClearerAfter some great play this weekend, the teams are now set, just the ranking is to still be determined. When Alex Pineda Chacon scored a hat-trick against DC in Miami to gain the 3-1 victory over the United. With the win, DC was eleiminated from the playoffs and the Wizards and Burn were locked in. Pineda Chacon's first strike came in just the third minute with an assist by Diego Serna. The second came in the 26th off a short corner kick. Dc got one back when Mark Lisi scored off a Marco Etcheverry free kick. But Pineda Chacon scored again in the 70th minute with an assist from Preki. It is still to be decided as to what order the teams will have going into the playoffs since Miami and Chicago are tied in points right now. Prior to the Saturday matchups the Metros took on the Revs. The scoring started early with Rodrigo Faria nodding home a corner kick taken by Daniel Hernandez in the 5th minute. The Revs tied the match up in the 14th minute when Andy Williams worked a beautiful ball around a defender and placed a shot just inside the right goal post. But Faris would again give the Metros the lead in the 27th minute when he headed home another ball off a cross from Petter Villegas. The Metros would add an insurance goal again from the head when Adolfo Valencia headed home a second corner kick in first half stoppage time. Dallas headed up to Chicago and gained a 2-2 result that probably even surprises the Burn as they had to score two late goals to earn the point. Chicago had taken the lead late in the match as well when Diego Gutierrez scored in the 68th minute. Peter Nowak then added a second goal in the 81st minute to give the Fire a 2-0 lead. Maybe they thought that this was enough to win the match this late in the game, but the Burn came back. But Bobby Rhine would score just 5 minutes later to put Dallas on the board. And then in stoppage time Ariel Graziani was able to sneak one past Zach Thornton to earn the tie. In a result that showed that the defending champs can still play some defense, the Wizards gained a 1-0 victory over the Quakes with a first half strike from Roy Lassiter. Lassiter's goal came in the 36th minute when he slammed home a cross from Gary Glasgow.
