Will DC be hot this Weekend?

The MLS champs travel to LA for a rematch of last year's MLS final. You would normally think that this would automatically be a great matchup. But this had not been a normal DC United year. They started the year very slow and have only recently begun to rebound. The problem is that they have rebound hot and cold. DC has lost three in a row but just prior to that, beat Colorado at Mile High by a score of 5-2. LA, in the meantime, is on cruise control. As if they weren't strong enough already, they just added Luis Hernandez to their lineup. He will be present, but it is unclear as to whether or not he will be cleared or ready to play. The match could be surprizingly competitive if the hot/cold United show up hot. Both teams will be close to their full squads. DC may be able to take it up a notch just for pride.

Colorado heads to Miami after losing to the Fusion 2-1 in Denver. The difference between the two matches is that the Rapids have just come off a well played win against New England at Foxboro, winning 4-3. The Rapids will be without their usual cast of injuried starters and Dely Valdez who will be trying to help Panama qualify for the World Cup. Miami will be without Jeff Cassar in goal or Henry Gutierrez in midfield. The Rpids could pull an upset against Miami as they have only lost three away games this year and those were to LA, KC, and TB.

Speaking of Tampa Bay, they will be traveling to the Big Apple to face the Metrostars. The Metros have been the group to look good, but struggle to finish. They played an excellent match against KC losing 2-0, but this week they will be without Matthaus and Ramiro Corrales in the back. They did just add Clint Mathis to their midfield which also includes a healthy Tab Ramos. Tampa hasn't exactly been on fire, so it may be an interesting match.

The Burn head into Columbus without Ariel Graziani. The Crew are still tyring to pull it together. Dante Washington has not been as much of a scoring machine since a minor traffic accident a few weeks ago. Columbus is not easy to beat at home and the Burn should have their hands full as the Crew look to make some changes to try to find something that fits.
