Brown wrote and published many books during her lifetime. In addition, following her untimely death, many of her previously unpublished manuscripts were published, several of them in 2002 and 2003.
So whether it is the location that spurs the creative energies or it is that Maine draws creative people with its quiet beauty, many award-winning authors have taken up residence here and also set many of their stories here.
