Are you a writer? Then you need Writer's Digest.

When one thinks about the word writer or author, they are entering a complex but miraculous realm of ideas and imagination. But what one must remember is that writing can not be obtained by the greedy or the shallow-minded, but can be cherished for those whom have a passion for it. Writing is not always a straight road, for there are many curves and forks. But there is a way to get help and inspiration, and that is through the viewpoints of Writer's Digest.

A few weeks ago, I was walking through the aisles of Barnes and Noble and happened to run across a certain magazine that stood out. It was Writer's Digest. A few moments later, I found myself at the check-out counter and then in my house flipping through the pages, reveling in the beauty of writing.

Writer's Digest's organized magazine consists of many columns and departments and to even think of picking favorites or downing any would be an arduous task, but I have undertaken the pain-staking method of picking certain columns and departments. With all do respect to the columns and departments I don't mention, here are a few of the many columns and departments Writer's Digest houses:

Inspiration

Brag Board- Have you ever achieved a goal in your writing life and built up so much excitement that you just wanted to tell the world? Well, here's your chance! The Brag Board consists of six or so achievements writers like you and I have accomplished. Submitters to the Brag Board are allowed to write a short paragraph "boasting" of their achievements. Submission info is in the Extra Info section of my article and topic page.

Technique

Fiction- This column is a valuable source of information and inspiration for the aspiring fiction writer. This column explains the techniques for writing in one of today's hottest market. It also contains a section devoted to listing a few of the markets in today's busy world. Fiction is an art and when practiced and inspired, it will grow. I guarantee you that Writer's Digest and the fiction column will help you accomplish whatever your goals are in your writing life.

FYI

The Writing Life Calendar- Although the life of a writer can be lonely, it can also be the direct antithesis when practiced. The Writing Life Calendar works with you to augment your talent and eliminate any doubts you may have acquired. If you use this calendar, then you are appointed to do daily writing tasks that enhance your writing accuracy and help you create ideas. One true thing I have learned from doing this calendar is that writing once a day, regardless of the topic, enhances your ability and broadens your mind.
