The National Geographic magazine itself is as interesting and fact filled as the television station. In each issue the National Geographic has feature stories. These stories range from scientific wonders to cultural events. From mother nature's creatures to man's creations the National Geographic has it all in their departments. From the Editor - This department provides a letter of the magazine's editor's personal adventures. From funny remarks to heart warming discoveries this department is guaranteed to be an enjoyable read. Forum - The forum is a chance for readers to express their opinion on issues within the magazine. The editor chooses a topic from a past magazine and offers readers the opportunity to provide their comments. So why not send in yours today? EarthPulse - This department talks about conservation and issues within that topic. Although many have different opinions on this department's topics, this department does provide facts to back them up. Geographica - This department explores "the people, places, and creatures of our universe." The department is split up into four topics: Conservation, Evolution, Anthropology and Biology. As you can see with these topics this department is bound to be interesting. Behind the Scenes - This department brings you behind the scenes with the people who run the National Geographic. As you read you take the journey that the National Geographic takes everyday. You will explore caves, underwater wonders and much more in this fun filled department. NationalGeographic.com - This department is a promotion for the society's website. In each issue this department provides amazing facts and web links needed to explore them. National Geographic TV - This department is a promotion for the society's television station. It provides dates and times for the TV station's most interesting shows. With these departments alone this magazine is wonderful, but with the feature stories included it is both interesting and fun. Whether you are a geographic knowledge buff or someone who needs to pass time by this magazine is both essential and truthful.
