Apple Profit
Apple announced a profit of US$55 million last week, easily beating out the analysts' forecast of US$21 Million profit, but not the good souls at As the Apple Turns who managed to beat the analysts' results with 12 people guessing the correct result, with (statistical) average of all guesses being just over US$1 million more then the final Apple result. Considering that industry analysts were over US$30 million off, and the closest analyst was still too low, I think it easy to see how much analysts don't know about Apple. Apple Watch of the week Apple's annual shareholders meeting is on this Wednesday at the company headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. This shareholders meeting was originally scheduled for February but was delayed. In a surprise move, Apple has banned reporters from the meeting. This won't stop reporting of the meeting, because the number of reporters who actually own Apple stock, but nothing exciting is expected to be announced at the meeting anyway, so the reason for this move is somewhat obscure. Apple's World Wide Developers Conference Apple has released its event list for the WWDC, which lists what major areas will be discussed in detail at the conference. There isn't any news yet on exactly what surprises are in store for the conference, though
Reverse migration or progress? MacCentral is covering the debate about whether migrating companies from Windows to MacOS is a "reverse migration" or a "forward migration" (or just plain "progress"). This is all actually a by-product to its latest ongoing study on companies doing this Windows to Mac migration. To further the debate, MacKido has posted two new articles. Corporate Lunacy looks at the lemming-like march of large corporations to Windows when study after study has shown the supremacy of the Macintosh. Evolution or Revolution deals with the (now) common complaint that as the Mac interface hasn't changed in 15 years, the operating system is dead. My argument is it has been 15 years and Microsoft still hasn't fully copied the interface. This is hardly the fault of the Mac, is it? Go To Page: 1
