The new addition to the Mac section here at Suite101,
Mac
Shareware / Common sense computing, is now up and running,
give it a look.
Interesting Articles In an interesting article over at Byte magazine, the core technologies used in Building the Virtual PC are discussed, and the method used to provide a complete Intel Standard PC in hardware are explained. A further couple of interviews at OS emulation Page, one from a member of the RealPC team, and the other from a member of the VirtualPC team, also expand upon this subject more for those who are interested. Featured sites Every Mac is a "complete guide of every Macintosh and MacOS-Compatible in the world, with detailed technical, configuration, and pricing information." They catalogue the Macs according to manufacturers, processors and currently shipping models, as well as maintaining a list of the current status of all the clone makers. Looking through this list, I get the funny feeling that Europe (particularly Germany) is the best place to by MacOS computers. There is so many models available. An Apple a Day is a site that each day features a different Macintosh site on the Web. As well, it has sections for updated and moved sites. The site also features an Apple Surf section, which is is similar to the Mac Surfer site, but concentrates more on what is on the Macintosh Sites, rather then the whole of the internet like Mac Surfer. MacWindows is a site dedicated to providing information and resources for the seamless operation of mixed Macintosh/windows environments (as well as those that include Rhapsody and other flavours of Unix). It includes articles, news and reviews of all products related to this field of operations. Rhapsody sites I've decided to start putting together a section on my links page for Rhapsody sites so that people can start getting information about this new operating system and decide when, or even if, they are going to switch to it. Stepwise is an old mainstay information source from the the NextStep community. Stepwise now employs its specialist services towards providing information to the Rhapsody community (as the descendant of the NextStep community). This site features well written articles on all the technical aspects of the NextStep/Rhapsody operating system, as well as opinion pieces, application archives and other useful information. RhapNet, over at Mac News Network, is probably the best site for rumours. It also has a good team of opinion article writers and is a good source of original writings on the Rhapsody platform. Rhapsody OS is MacOS Rumours's associated Rhapsody site, maintained by different people but hosting the former Rumours' Rhapsody programs archive and the new Go To Page: 1 2
