Surf them sitesReality Site I have found a new site called Reality. This site is a Macintosh news and advocacy site. Reality has screen shots of Rhapsody DR1, including the Blue Box. There are also screen shots for the new game by Bungie, Myth:The fallen lords. Also featured is Quicktime 3.0 (including documentation), a weekly summary of Mac news and a column (this week about Apple's latest quarterly results). MacKiDo Temple On the subject of Mac advocacy pages, I think I'll bring up the new site redesign of the MacKiDo Temple. The MacKiDo Temple is a site maintained by David K Every who uses it to publish articles that "defend the Mac." He publishes articles of the following types:
In addition to articles, the MacKiDo Temple is also host to a collection of humorous stories and jokes, a "Darkside" story collection containing stories about Microsoft's unfair competitive practices, and Windows "daymares" (stories about troubles using windozes). Computer history and other reference pages are also maintained at the site. All these pages are very well set out and easy to navigate through, as well as being well written. A new feature added with redesign is an AppleBits section at the bottom of his page in which he features some pro Mac links every day. Web surfing problems Over the weekend, two prominent Mac sites were down. MacOSRumors and MacInsider. MacInsider shut down on Friday leaving a goodbye message and a promise to return advertisers' money. Rumors spread around the web that Apple had shut down MacInsider. Then MacInsider asked for votes of support and finally on Monday up came MacInsider again as though nothing had happened. Hmmm..... MacOSRumors' week-long shutdown, on the other hand, was nothing more than moving problems, and they too reappeared on Monday. You have got to hand it to the conspiracy mongers. They had a field day over the fact that two of the most prominent of the Apple leaks had disappeared at the same time. I thought it was the job of As the Apple Turns to write the daily soap opera of Apple?
