Macworld soap opera: Apple and its hole in the foot.

Power Computing and (coincidence?) Motorola will also be previewing new systems based on, can it be?, 740 chips! They will also be showing of the first CHRP/PPCP based Macs, now that Apple finally has an operating system to run on the platform, something they are now regretting because, you guessed it, Apple's new 350MHz 604 computers are just plain slow in comparison to these new babies.

Umax is adding an entry level line of computers.

Various companies will be showing off new software titles for the Mac, as well as a few old NeXT companies who now have products running under Rhapsody, look for these guys in Apple's own stand. A fairly old rumour is that Microsoft will be announcing big things at MacWorld, unless it's a Microsoft takeover of Apple it'll probably be drowned by the sound of Apple shooting itself in the foot,
... again,
... with a large gun,
... probably mounted on something like a battleship.

Apple will also be sponsoring a fireworks display (you know, real ones that go bang and light up the sky, not that Job's talk is not shaping up to do this too) for the end of the show, situated over Boston harbour.

I'll be monitoring all this over in Australia via the web, but if any of you people are lucky enough to make it to the Expo, drop me a line at s3033578@mpce.mq.edu.au, I always enjoy reading personal reviews, also the new version of Suite101 is supposed to include the feature of guest publishers, so if you're keen, go ahead and write a full article, and I'll publish it.
