Let's play 20-questions!
1- Lyme disease is bacterial or viral? Now that you have played, stay tuned for next month's article where I will post the answers. I have noticed while speaking with Lyme disease victims that when one part of our brain seems to shut down due to the disease, another part is waiting to come to life. For example, a Lymer was always an avid reader before Lyme disease. Once the Lyme disease became chronic, eyesight seemed to wane and retaining anything read was nearly impossible. No longer being able to enjoy reading books, the Lymer listened to tapes. Not satisfied with taped readings and wanting more information on the disease that had turned a once enjoyable time into a stressful situation, the Lymer started researching the disease -- one paragraph or page a day. This was the catalyst with which a newfound career was launched -- author. Instead of reading books, the Lymer now writes them. It's true that when one loses their sight -- the other senses kick in overdrive to compensate. When one loses a limb -- one finds another way to maneuver. When one loses cognitive skills -- one perhaps learns to rely on notes and prompts. When one isn't satisfied with the quality of life -- we remember that there is always another door that hasn't been tried. When one succumbs to Lyme disease -- there is only the depressing illness in the days ahead. Ask yourself -- what's your tomorrow going to be like? One of awakening senses or one with yet another day of depressing illness? Go To Page: 1 2
