Why We Left Lutheranism--The Mode of Baptism is Non-essential

Aug 10, 2001 - © Claude A. Guild & John L. Hoh, Jr.

This would not be prompted by any one saying that is the only way to baptize, but because others start insisted on sprinkling is the only God-approved method.

The important thing in the sacrament Christ instituted and gave us is that through our baptism God works faith. Through our baptism we die to sin in Christ. In baptism we rise again even as Christ rose from the dead. The water empowered by the Word of God is what washes away our sins and creates new life in us, no matter what age we are baptized at or in what manner we are baptized.
