children. If you have children living under your roof, you have laws and rules for them. Even if they are "of age" (>18), you still expect that under your house your rules are still in force. Even Ann Landers and Dear Abby state that adult children living under their parents' roof have an obligation to obey the rules of the house!

Being saved by grace, not by works, our observance of the Ten Commandments is not by obligation, but out of love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! So, should we keep the Sabbath? Or can we worship on Sunday?

Paul wrote to the Galatians that they should no longer let people judge them by the holy days they keep (Galatians 4). And if love is the fulfillment, out of love we may offer services more than on just Sunday. As Baby Boomers age, more people will reside in nursing homes. Many other occupations employ people in "shifts." Out of love, we would offer alternate times and days for worship so that those who need to work can still be faithful in attending God's house and studying God's Word.

Likewise, in the Lutheran tradition we have mid-week Advent and Lenten services. So we discard those because they are not spoken of in the Bible? Or should we eliminate Bible study in the church? God actually gave the command for Christian education to the fathers and heads of households, not to the church!

Let's now look at graven images. What is a graven image-and what should our reaction be?

In the time of Israel, all Israel's neighbors would-get this-MAKE a statue of an animal or of the king or of a fish. They would
