And what he tasted he said was as sweet as honey. We also want God's Word to be a part of our every day life. By digging into the Scriptures we taste and see that the Lord is good. Then we open our mouths to share it with others. We want others to taste the sweetness of the Gospel. Whenever we come upon something that brings excitement into our lives, it's kind of natural of us to share it with others. A new place to eat, a neat place to buy clothes, a great movie, and lately it's been which gas station has the cheapest gas price. And so it is with our faith. When we have the love, joy, and peace of Christ living in our hearts, we want to share it. If we truly believe with our hearts that Jesus is Lord and Savior, then we will want everyone else to believe it too. God does not want us to be like the Kallima butterflies which are often called "dead-leaf butterflies." The upper sides of their wings are very colorful, but the undersides are a drab grey-brown. When in flight, their color is very visible, but when it lands, the colors disappear as it folds it's wings and appears as a dead leaf. Many of us can be brilliantly colored as we come to God's house to sing Him praise, but when we go out into the world we may be tempted to fold up our wings and blend in with the rest of society. Let the light of our faith shine. For we know what the Bible says. We believe it in our hearts and we confess it with our mouths! Amen.
