Luther on Mothers and Motherhood

May 7, 1999 - © Dr. Martin Luther, Th.D., Reformer, sinner and child of God, son

Luther definitely saw the importance and the blessing of mothers in our lives. Let us honor our mothers whom God gave each of us to nurture and encourage us. Thank our Heavenly Father also for supplying this gift. And especially thank our Heavenly Father that he did not withdraw the gift of motherhood from women, but through it preserves the human race and also effected our salvation!

Read Luther's Works: Volume 1, Lectures on Genesis Chapter 1 if you get a chance. Verse 16 is covered on pages 198-203 and Luther expounds greatly on motherhood.

Happy Mothers Day to all mothers! You are God's blessing to each of us.
