That Jesus Christ Was Born a Jew: Part 12: Jacob's Prophecy 2of Shiloh in mind when he spoke those parables? Jesus has never done what Jacob later says of this shiloh Luther points out that the actions of shiloh are spiritual, not physical. And Luther takes us through the explanation of how shiloh must die and rise again in order to fulfill this prophecy of Jacob! We see here a paradox-a mortally immortal man! The images of the vineyard and wine are also interesting. One of Jesus' "I Am" statements in John's Gospel is "I AM the vine, you are the branches." And what did he say is his blood? Why, the cup of course! And interestingly Jacob uses four images dealing with wine in this verse: 1. He will bind his foal to the vine, The Passover celebration of the Jews includes four cups of wine! Next week Luther finishes his discourse on Jacob's prophecy.
