That Jesus Christ Was Born a Jew: Part 6, Promise to DavidBut out of these ashes God brought forth a King, a King who would rule as a Shepherd rules sheep. He would be born of a woman so as to be under the law, but his paternity would be from God himself, the eternal one ("I shall be his father, and he shall be my son"). Hence we have a King in our hearts who is eternal. Next week we will look at the Promise as expressed to Isaiah, who first gives us an indication of the virgin mother.
