'Tis The Season! So, how can you help? Glad that you asked! The Lupus Foundation of America is always accepting donations to be used for research and for the dissemination of information, and donations can be made online, by phone or by mail. You can also donate In Memory, In Honor, or for a special occasion. You can also make monetary donations to the Dorough Lupus Foundation They also have a shop where you can buy CDs, hats, shirts and more. All proceeds go to the Foundation. The Dorough Lupus Foundation is having an "Appreciation Day" in Toronto on August 23, 2003. There will be singers, dancers, and loads of fun. All proceeds from the event go to the Foundation, so it's fun and charitable at the same time! For more information, go to http://www.megandavidson.50megs.com and thanks to nicksgurly for letting us know about this great fundraiser! If you feel that you cannot donate any money at this time, that's fine. There are many other ways that you can contribute to the fight against lupus. Attend your local LFA meetings and volunteer to greet newcomers. Call your local radio or television station and speak to the news director or health reporter and ask about the possibility of their doing a story on lupus. (Offer yourself as an interview!) Hold a bake sale or start a lemonade stand and give the proceeds to lupus research. Even if it's only a few dollars, it can make all the difference. The little things that we all can do can add up to great things. Please help us get the word out, raise awareness and understanding, and eventually, find a cure for lupus. Thank you.
