The Crock Pot - Part 1 of 2


1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 medium onion, finely diced
1 cup raw long grain rice
1-26 oz can low fat chunky spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp seasoned salt

Place half the cabbage and carrot mixture in crockpot. Crumble ground turkey over top. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp of the salt and 1/8 tsp of pepper. Evenly spread diced onion and uncooked rice over top. Top with remaining cabbage, salt, and pepper. Combine spaghetti sauce, water, basil and seasoned salt. Pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and cook on Low 6 hours or until rice is tender.

Meat and Veggie Loaf
½ lb. extra lean ground beef
½ lb. extra lean ground turkey
1 cup thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 medium red bell pepper, diced
¼ cup finely minced onion
1/2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper

Combine all ingredients. Shape into loaf. Place on rack in crockpot. Cover and cook on High for 3-4 hours.
