Are We There Yet?

Which brings me to my question. How long can a long distance relationship continue to survive the distance? Six months? A year? Two? Indefinitely?

Jean-Marc and I have spent two years living apart. After the first year, however, we started making plans for our furture together. We decided we could survive another year of distance and then he would move to my hometown. It hasn't been easy, but we've managed. I soemtimes wonder if we'd have made it this far, however, without that light at the end of our four hundred mile tunnel. Without the reassurance that the distance is only temporary, would the strain eventually have taken too much of a toll? I have posted the topic for discussion and I hope you will take a few minutes to voice your thoughts, tell your stories, share advice, express your opinions or lend encouragement. I'm anxious to hear your responses.
