Soul Born of Water

More often my camera is pointed at the rising sun. Sometimes the beauty of a sunrise is such that I have to put the camera down and simply absorb some of the color, color that a camera could never remember the way my heart does.

Recently I took a friend from Tennessee, whose hometown borders the Tennessee River, to the beach. With her talent for soulful vision, she observed that being near the ocean had soothed my stressed-out nerves.

There is no better tonic for the worries of life than the ocean. Once you have tuned your ear to the vibrant voice of the waves slapping the shore, your daily struggles shrink in significance as you realize that you are just a small part of larger universe, and you were placed here on this earth for the perfection of a purpose. Never mind that you may never discover the purpose; it’s enough to know that you are part of the plan.
