rescuers made the ultimate sacrifice out of duty and love for the human race. They also were part of the ultimate frustration of the job - not being able to save one of your own.

Historians will be contemplating the ramifications of this attack for years to come. America's innocence is lost, say the talking heads on CNN. But the real tragedy is the tale of innocents lost in the gray haze of some terrorist's mad diseased dreams of superiority over the American people. On their behalf, may justice be served.
