It may take you a few outbreaks to pinpoint some of your triggers, but once you do, you'll be well-armed to help prevent them in the future. Once you have identified your factors, you can begin to make adjustments to minimize or eliminate them. These corrections may only need to be temporary during short trigger periods, or they may need to be overall lifestyle adjustments that are implemented for the long-term.
Don't be discouraged if a total lifestyle overhaul sounds too ambitious. The key to prevention is moderation, and stressing too much about the way you live is just adding another potential trigger. Keep in mind that there can be more than one trigger factor responsible for an outbreak. Even minimizing or eliminating the easiest and most obvious ones can weaken the strength of the remaining triggers. |
