Herpes outbreaks can be blessings in disguise. They force us to temporarily slow down and change focus in our relationships. With that in mind and also to help you take advantage of the warmer weather ahead, this article lists 20 no-risk and low-risk ways to have fun and be romantic, not to mention create a few sparks. Everyday, non-sexual gestures are often underestimated when it comes to keeping romantic feelings alive. Any of these can help to keep your excitement going during time-outs from sex - or anytime. Try a few of these tips that fit your style, or use them as a starting point to come up with your own ideas. If you have any other tips or feedback you'd like to share with others, please post your thoughts. Hope you enjoy! - Make eye contact. And hold it. If you're tempted to say something, keep quiet and try to express it with your eyes.
- Hold hands. If you don't usually hold hands, try it. If you do, pay attention to the heat and energy that passes between the two of you.
- Go bowling. Or miniature golfing. Or play billiards. Pick a sport that you and your partner are not very good at. It will set the stage for a light, laugh-filled date.
- Give a massage. Take this opportunity to explore your partner's skin without sex as the goal. You may be surprised by how fulfilling it can be just to touch.
- Get a massage. If you're feeling stressed, ask your partner to give you a massage. If you're busy people, make it just a small neck rub or quick scalp massage.
- Kiss. Slowly. Slow it down until each detail of movement grows enormous in your perception.
- Walk together. If you always drive, walk around your neighborhood. If you usually walk, go to a park or nature trail that you visit less frequently. If you have a dog, take it on an unusual route.
- Talk. About anything at all. Especially sex. It's totally safe and can be very exciting.
- Read. Aloud to each other anything from poetry to Playboy, whatever suits your mood. Or read separately and sit close while you both do it.
- Shop. For something the two of you can enjoy together. It could be anything from ingredients for a great dinner to theater tickets to a new couch.
- Take pictures. Of each other while you're doing something fun together.
- Drive. Go for a long drive without a destination. Explore a new area of your city, town or countryside. If you're driving somewhere specific, take an alternate route and don't worry about getting lost.
