Alone At Last

So the kids are back in school, and you and your significant other realize that means you may possibly be able to spend some time alone together...where do you begin?

Here are some options which will allow you and yours to spend some quality time together. Of course the busy school season means that you are always prone for interruption, try these quick fixes to ensure that your relationship stays as energized as your kids do.

1. Mornings may be a good option. When you prepare your children for the next day of school the night before, it's easy to get them prepared and ready for school. Which leaves you and yours with a few moments to spare.

2. You also don't need the kids out of the house to have some alone time. Set a reasonable bed time for them and spend those last hours of the day alone together. Though you may not be able to devote time every night to each other, you can set at least one night, each week, when you and yours can spend some quality time together.

3. Are the kids busy with homework? If they don't require much assistance, it's the perfect time to go for a walk, or cuddle up with a movie.

4. Better yet, if you can - do lunch. Or at least lunchtime. The children will be at school working diligently (or so you hope) and you and your loved one can either go out to lunch or meet back up at your house.

5. Activities...use them to your advantage! Dance lessons, football teams and extracurricular activities not only keep the children busy, but give you time as well.

6. If all else fails, take a weekend trip if you can't take more time off. Paying a sitter or leaving the children with a family member is well worth it if you can relax and take time to be with the one you love.

Now remember, I'm not guaranteeing long whimsical amounts of time with your partner, but with a little planning, it is possible to sneak in a few moments - and if you have kids, they're certainly much-needed.
