Organizing for Fall

It's fall, and even if you're not heading "Back to School" like most students are, it's still a great time to get yourself organized and ready for the fall hustle.

Of course, if you have children, you're probably busy getting school supplies and clothes. But even when they hop on the bus, you can make time to organize your life.

1. Get a planner. Kids or not, fall generally means people getting back into the swing of things. And it's not too early to think about the holidays, and getting your shopping done early. Generally, you can buy these pretty cheap from http://www.staples.com or http://www.officemax.com. They come in all shapes, materials and colors. Highly advisable and necessary!

2. Clean. Now that things are calming down from a busy summer, it's a great time to clean so you have more time for work and play. Get out good old Mister Clean and make friends with him. Get behind the furniture, do the dusting...it will also make cold season more survivable.

3. It's "me" time. What was the one thing you didn't get to do over the summer? Was it a good book or movie you missed because you were too busy buying citronella candles and heading to the beach? Now's the time to relax, which will also help you "run" better when demand is high and you're a hot commodity.

4. Get back in a regimen. Whether it be working out or setting those late doctor appointments, fall is a great time to catch up with all you never got to do or procrastinated upon during the summer. Exercise -- a must for us all. So get a plan together and begin to stick to it, because it will benefit you in the future. I like to think of fall as a great time to start my abandoned New Year's resolutions! What did you promise to do on January 1, 2001?

So get in gear! It's a great time to be organized!
