If only there were rules...steps we could follow that would ensure us a happy life-- having a road map would make it so much easier.
While I cannot guarantee you instant success or everlasting gratification, I can give you some tips to help you gain control of your life and life it to the fullest. These 'seven secrets' are taken from Kathy Gates' article on http://www.innerself.com. Gates says the first secret to living a happier life is to simplify it, and I couldn't agree more. How many times have we thought, 'I can't give up this!' when we hear the word 'simplify'? The good news is that you don't have to give up what you love in order to simplify your life. You only have to make sure it is organized enough to give yourself time for what you truly enjoy (spending time with loved ones, hobbies, etc.) Many people hear the word, 'me time' and cringe. Though it is difficult to devote a lot of time to your inner growth while managing a job, relationships, a home and perhaps a family, with a little reorganization, it is possible. For more information, check out http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/7065... Gates says the second secret of life is putting in effort. And she's right! We must work for what we earn, but when we but our best foot forward, we see amazing results. Don't plan on the perfect life falling flat into your lap. Though we all wish that would happen, the reality of life is that we must strive and work towards our happiness. In doing so, we get to learn more about ourselves, which is an added bonus. 'Life will reward your best effort,' Gates says. Of course setting priorities is another secret of life-- but it's no secret that organization is the key. Of course it's easy to go through life 'rolling with the punches.' While that may be good, that puts life in control, which can result in your time being wasted, or not properly managed. Take time to sit down and think about what you want out of life. Read a few books...do some journaling...whatever it takes. This is your life and setting priorities for what you want done will allow you to clearly visualize your goals...and go for them! Yes, there are FOUR more secrets just waiting for you to discover them. I'll be back with the rest next week. For now, get pumped and start thinking of new ways to enhance your life. Go To Page: 1 2
