Even those you do not wind up friends with that you meet are still useful to you. they can help you realize who you are, and learn about life and love.
If you do wind up making a friend, that's another plus!
Everyone we meet shapes us in some way, and it is important to meet others not only to make friends, but to get to know what kinds of people are in the world.
If you're stuck in a slump wondering where you can go to meet new people, check out these tips!
1. Pick up a newspaper and look for community organizations that spark your interest. If you are solely interested in meeting people for romantic purposes, there are probably some singles organizations in your area.
2. Be friendly. Go somewhere where you feel safe talking to people. You may want to pass people on the street and say hi, or simply spark up a conversation when out shopping and running errands. As generic as it may sound, asking about the weather does start a good chat!
3. Get on the internet! The web is a great place to meet people from all over the world. If you prefer a long-distance friend, you can connect practically anywhere. Most chat rooms today have regional rooms, so you can meet people that live close to you. I highly recommend http://www.yahoo.com. They have some great chat rooms and a free instant messenger program that features voice chatting--so it's like you're on the phone!
Those are just a few tips. There are more! If you can, maybe try to talk to one new person a day...even if it is small talk. Places that you visit regularly (work, convenience stores, libraries, malls) will have the same people working there, so it's good to get to know them!
Go forth, social butterfly! No matter who you meet, your life will be enhanced!
