Maybe it’s time for you to take a wee vacation somewhere. Does your new country have beaches, lakes, mountains, somewhere to go to chase those nostalgia blues away. A complete change of scenery and pace might be just what you need. Of course, if you live in the country, you might want to go to a big city, just to get a taste of the fast pace and conveniences of urban life. I live in a town of about two thousand people, and every now and then it’s good to go to the capital, see shopping malls, restaurants (like McDonald’s and Tony Roma’s!) and be a city gal again.

It’s a phase that all of us go through, and survive. You can, too!

Homesickness is one thing, feeling literally sick is another. In December I’ll talk about basic precautions to protect your health.
