Nevertheless, she was not forgotten. In the mid-1950s, MGM made the movie, Love Me or Leave Me, starring Doris Day as Ruth and James Cagney as Moe Snyder. Doris Day received great reviews for her performance, and you can still see the movie and hear many of the songs that Ruth Etting made famous on classic movie channels such as Turner Classic Movies. Some of the Many Songs Associated with Ruth Etting, 1920s -- 1930s Ten Cents a Dance Shaking the Blues Away Love Me or Leave Me But I Do, You Know I Do Button Up Your Overcoat Shine On, Harvest Moon A Needle in a Haystack Dancing with Tears in My Eyes Sam, the Old Accordion Man At Sundown It All Depends on You Mean to Me Everybody Loves My Baby
