May Is a Time to Celebrate Literature


National Book Month
Celebrate National Book Month by participating in a variety of special events at your local public library and bookstores throughout May. If you live in or will be visiting San Francisco, Washington, D.C., or Chicago during May, plan to attend the National Book Foundation's Gold Medal Tour and spend an evening with a winner of this year's National Book Award.

Dickinson Open House

To Kill a Mockingbird

During the first weekend in May, Harper Lee's hometown of Monroeville, Alabama, will have its annual performance of "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Monroe County Heritage Museums. O. Henry Pun Off World Championship
