The Language of Lies: Destroying MythAn artist who merely perpetuates the status quo mythos is nothing more than a charlatan and a siphon for other people's ideas. Those who have made a contribution to the idea of literature have been those who realize that nothing, including the word is static, there are not set meanings, but rather there is a constant metamorphosis in each given context, and that all 'assumptions' and 'perfectly natural things' are to be questioned. They have been aware of the fact that the image used as the symbol and the symbolized are not synonymous. They have been iconoclasts and semioclasts, and it is because of them that progression in art, literature and philosophy have come about.
