Where oh where ....Can the time of year effect how much or how little you write? Does the temperature heating up cause problems with how your muses work? Using me as an example, I say yes it can. As the temperatures rises, I find myself wanting to write less and less? Those I have spoken to say not to force it. Your writing will come back to you. However, I am impatient. I love to write, and when I can’t I get very frustrated. So what is it? Is it the summer heat or is it my muses gone off to hide? I honestly do not know. The heat is a factor cause it is summer and I live in a state where temps rise to above 100 on a daily basis. However it could be something totally unrelated to the heat. Could it be that my muses are gone? That I cannot write. If this is the case, life would be upsetting to me. Writing is what I love to do. I listen to people that say my muses will return to me in time. I just need to be patient. Patience is not one of my better virtues, so I listen and sigh and continue to be frustrated. What do I do? Do I listen to them and just let my muses return on their own or do I fight for them and make them return? Fighting for them might push them farther away but sitting here waiting for inspiration to strike is painful. I know this happens to all writers. I am not alone in my frustration which does help me feel somewhat better. However, it still doesn’t help the situation at hand which is my inability to write fiction. Stories is what I write, and I am unable to do that. I know this will pass, but while I wait for that to happen I’ll continue to be frustrated. This month’s market and contest of the month are: Market of the Month
