The start of a new year is upon us. A new beginning. We have reflected on the year that was, and we are now ready for the year that is to come this week. Hello, 2002! Are you ready for a new year? Ready to move on with your writing? Make new strides toward your goal of being a writer. If you haven't yet sold a piece or won a contest, are you ready to do that in 2002?
Well, I certainly hope you are. It is time to set those goals for the new year. While you are making your New Year's Resolutions this New Year's Eve, why don't you make a few writing resolutions. Little goals that you want to see yourself accomplish in 2002. Maybe you want to finally finish that novel you have started and buried in your bottom drawer. Maybe you want to sell an article to a major publication, or win a contest. These are all doable goals in 2002. yu just need to buckle down and get to work. Now we all know, once New Year's day is done we usually forget those resolutions we made on New Year's Eve. Do not do this with your writing goals. Write them down in your planner or your journal. Tell others you know about them Have them remind you of your goals during the year. Do not forget what you want to do. Id you do, you will never move forward in regards to your writing. you will remain stuck at the starting gate. That is not what you want to do. you want to become something. You want to make your writing to mean something. So remember your goals and complete them in the year to come. To all of my readers that celebrate New Year's this week, my family and I would like to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. May this year be better than the last.
