Holiday Motivation

Well, like I said last week, they are here. The holiday season has arrived. For those of my readers that celebrated Thanksgiving this week, I hope you had a joyous holiday dinner with family and friends. Now that it is officially here, things are busy. No matter what holiday you celebrate in the month of December, preparations are in high gear. you have family and friends getting together to celebrate. Days of shopping. With all the hustle and bustle of the season, to get through, how do you keep yourself motivated to write.

It isn't an easy task. Trust me I know. By the end of the day, you are tired, and sitting down at the computer to write is just not what you want to do, but you must. Especially if you have deadlines. Deadlines do not go away just because it is the holiday season. They must be met. Editors will not take kindly if you ask for more time just because of your busy holiday schedule.

So just as any other busy time in your life, you need find ways to first keep yourself motivated to write and second to find that time in your schedule to write. Go back to previous ways that have worked for you in the past. If certain times of the day, seem less crazy for you then sit down and write during those times. If playing a certain CD helps sit the mood for you to write then play that CD. It all comes down to doing what works for you.

You are what is most important when it comes to your writing. you are the one writing down the words to create the sentences. It is your creativity that is driving your writing, so you have to be comfortable in the process. If you aren't, it will show in the writing you produce.
