Something which is is useful to do quite early, if you have a lot of PCs which may be moving to Linux, is to look that the HOWTOs for running Linux with a "Bootdisk" or "Diskless". Once you know a little about Linux, having even a simple system, or a system which works slower because it is working via the net, is a big help when you need to work out just what the parts of a PC are and what drivers will work. You are now familiar with Linux and the software on offer, and it is time to relate this to your business. You are not likely to move in one step to just Linux on all the PCs. Some functions may already be on Linux, because you have found them or produced them while you were learning and seen immediately how they could be integrated in your business. In general a lot of time is invested in learning the software you already use and your colleagues will thank you if they can continue as they are until you can let them try what you are suggesting they should move to and maybe have time for a rethink rather than having them take a leap in the dark. This is another case where running the software from your server can be helpful, as you don't need to have your colleague's PC except when they are trying your latest idea. Let them keep their old system as long as they want, with Linux on a separate disk or partition even when you have Linux solutions for everything they need.
