hard disk and only use Linux when they connect to the Internet. Having Linux has allowed them to avoid all the viruses of the last 2 years, and I have been able to log in to their system to make any changes which were necessary. They have had problems with the windows system a number of times and have born the expense of getting Windows fixed, so that they can use programs for which I can't get a good alternative under Linux yet. On one occasion I was able to use Linux to determine that the problems were occurring due to a fault which had developed with the RAM. That meant that the shop had to change the RAM and reinstall Windows under guarantee, instead of just repeatedly reinstalling Windows each time the PC messed the system up. So, I have been able to give them some help even with Windows, through having Linux in place.
