Diversity of New Zeland Education

Bunny
Considering one of my passions is Education, plus I have chosen to immersed myself fully in my own education, for the next 2 years, it dawned on me that this was a subject and issue that I might enjoy writing about

In New Zealand there is 4 to 5 levels of education.
Pre-school, 0-5 years old
Primary, Years NE - year 6 , approx. 5-10
Intermediate Years 7 - 8,approx. 11 -12
High School , Years 9 - 1 approx. 13 -18
Tertiary, from 18 to forever -well at least until you die or run out of money- which ever comes first.

All that is very factual and not wonderfully exciting, well that is if you are a red or yellow person, for a green or blue person it is quite acceptable, and that is exactly my point about this education thing.

The other day I was in a study group for my Management paper. Sitting around this table was a wonderful example of diversity. As we introduced ourselves, explaining how we each had reached this place at this time and in what direction we were going. I felt a little like "Alice in Wonderland" ,

`They're putting down their names,' the Gryphon whispered in reply, `for fear they should forget them before the end of the trial.' '

We had an International Banker, a Baker, a Office manager, a full time Parent, a Regional hospital assistant manager and an Engineer. It was an eclectic mix. As we talked you could quickly see the diversity in our way of thinking. From the social/culture perspective all the way to a pragmatic, economic, logical perspective I felt a little bit of a fraud as everyone else was taking a business management degree and I am on the path for a social science degree. Maybe clash of politics coming up, nevertheless, some how we seemed to make this all jell and work together.

They told me you had been to her,
And mentioned me to him:
She gave me a good character,

But said I could not swim.
He sent them word I had not gone
(We know it to be true):
If she should push the matter on,
What would become of you?

I gave her one, they gave him two,
You gave us three or more;
