Explorers of Canada, Part XXIX: Sir John Franklin


The expedition failed although it is believed that since Franklin crew was able to reach waters that he had himself explored previously, the Northwest Passage had finally been found. The reason of failure is believed to be lead poisoning, which made the men weak physically and mentally.
