Victorian Era Princess Louise lived in Canada from 1878 to 1883 when she was married to the Marques of Lorne who was the Governor General of Canada at the time. In 1890, the Duke of Connaught toured Canada. In 1900, Princess Marie-Louise came to Canada but due to the insistences of her husband Prince Aribert of Anhalt and her Mother, HRH Queen Victoria, she cut her visit short. In 1901, as part of a tour of the British Empire, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York (later King George V, Queen Mary) spent time across the whole country.
Edwardian (VI) Era Prince Arthur of Connaught spent a few weeks in Canada in 1906. When Quebec became a 300 year old city, George, Prince of Wales (later King George V) visited the city, his second trip to Canada.
Georgian (V) Era As in 1878, Royalty resided in Canada due to servitude as Governor General. This time, in 1911 to 1916 when the Duke and Duchess of Connaught as well as Princess Patricia, resided in Ottawa. Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII), spent a two-month visit, touring Canada. He returned to Canada in 1923, to spend time on his Ranch in Alberta, but he visited major cities during his visit. He returned once again, as part of an unofficial visit, in 1924. Prince George was also one to visit Canada often, he did so in 1926 where he toured the whole of Canada. He returned in 1927 with his brother, Edward for the diamond Jubilee (60 years) of the Confederation. Prince George returned for a private visit in 1928
